Synopsis

Product Description
Clap for Daylight's debut release Break Even showcases a musical flexibility and unique style that surpasses genre classification. Each track demonstrates a knack for catchy melodies, fresh lyrics and layers deftly textured arrangements on top of the band's 4-member core. Thanks to its diverse set of influences, "Break Even" showcases driving and engaging rock ("Face Today", "The Good and Evil Inside"), quieter moments of self-reflection ("The Art of Giving In", "Alaska"), and masterful sound textures ("Love Gone"). All eleven songs are skillfully woven together to create a complex, introspective and original album.

CD Reviews

Beautiful, catchy indie rock
M. D. Chitwood | Atlanta, GA | 06/11/2010
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This debut effort by CFD is incredibly solid. It's interesting to hear the range of influences throughout the album. I hear hints of everything from Nickel Creek to Jump Little Children to Radiohead to even Elvis Costello. But the amazing thing is that Clap For Daylight doesn't "sound like" anyone. That's a pretty admirable accomplishment. And they pull it off wonderfully. The lead singer has an almost angelic voice, and the musicianship is tight and catchy. Some hooks and phrases really get stuck in your head - in a good way! And don't miss seeing them live if you get the opportunity. They're tight, fun, and engaging. I can't recommend this album highly enough. It's well executed, fun indie pop that's a complete joy to listen to."
Clap for Daylight is full of amazing talent!

"If you are looking for original music, then you have found the right album. Clap for Daylight has incorporated a number of different instruments to create a very fresh sound."
That's what I'm talking about

"I picked up this CD at one of Clap's shows here in Atlanta. These guys did a great job of mixing genres, which I'm not usually a fan of. The cd has a kind of mix between classic rock, folk music, and a much more experimental rock. It's hard to describe, but in the end it sounds great. Alaska is definitely my favorite track. It's a bit mellower than what I usually would listen to, but sometimes a song just rocks."
