CD Reviews

Such An Overlooked Masterpiece!!!!!!!!!!!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"This album has gotten slammed left and right. One particular bad review was in a book of jazz albums with recommended listening. The writer reccomended Feels So Good, and Mangione's Greatest Hits. The author said, quote, "Mangione's hot streek was clearly over with, Love Notes." I think that is clearly wrong. It is great! Love Notes is one of Mangione's best albums! The first track, Steppin' Out is just one way to prove that this album is fabulous. One more piece of evidence of Mangione's song writing skills. The next song, No Problem, also, has a fabulous melody. All of the musicians, Peter Harris, Chris Vadala, and Chuck are at work playing beatiful, but drummer, Everret Silver is boring, because all he does is play quarter notes on his bass drum. Memories Of Scirocco is a great! Another fabulous melody. Chuck's band was so diverse, and just was so musically inclined! The next song's got the best melody I ever heard. To the eighties is a mellow jazz piece that swings! It is a gem, gem, gem!!! The title track, Love Notes isn't as good as the others, but its got its moments. Give this cd a listen, you'll love it, no matter what any professional writer/reviewer says!!!!!!!"
