Synopsis

Product Description
A 61-minute recording of a chorus of crickets. To many of us the sound of crickets in September means the arrival of our favorite time of year on Cape Cod. The water is cooling yet remains entirely swimmable. The peak crowds of August are gone but the activities and cultural events continue unabated. The neighborhoods are quiet again of cars and banging screen doors, but are no less lively. With no music or artificial elements, the sound of crickets on this recording begins with a modest chorus and progresses to a full symhpony, to make an organic audio soundtrack that s perfect for relaxing, sleeping, meditating, or as a gift for your favorite homesick Cape Codder.

CD Reviews

Nothing but crickets!
Marlowe | Los Angeles, CA United States | 06/02/2006

"This is exactly what I was looking for. It's crickets -real crickets- and nothing but crickets. I was a little hesitant about this disc because I couldn't hear a sample of it, but it was definitely worth taking the chance. Despite the title Cape Cod Soundscapes, it could be anywhere -personally I'm reminded of summer at my parents' house in the California foothills and that's where it takes me even though I'm square in the middle of the city. I love this CD!"
Great to fall asleep to

"I bought this for my girlfriend and she loves it. We searched all over for an alarm clock with realistic cricket sound effects but they didn't exist. We ended up buying an alarm clock with a CD player and set it to play the crickets continuously on sleep mode."
Beautiful cricket chorus

"Fabulous recording! Just crickets on the whole disc! The best I've heard on crickets. One thing I miss from not living in the countryside is the sounds of the night. With this CD I feel right at home, and it is excellent for having a good night's sleep. Totally recommended! There is another CD from Rykodisc called "midnight rainshower" (or something like that) They recorded the sound of gentle rain with crickets in the background. Very good sleep inducer, too. Also recommended!"
