Holmes | Warner Robins, Ga. | 08/12/2007 (5 out of 5 stars) ""Listeners choice" for me has been soft jazz ever since, as a DJ I played Cal Jader's "Black Orchid" in the early 60's. Thusly I've gathered an enviable assortment of this kind of music, but in the whole collection my greedy, soft-jazz-loving fingers have fondled no album better than this one, and all from an artist I'd never heard of until I stumbled across his work on Amazon. Standring writes most of the songs. Every cut is a gemstone, "Kaleidoscope-Constellation-Through The Looking Glass" among them, BUT I challenge anybody to find something more lovely than the title track "Soul Express". Trust me, if I could write and play like that, well suffice to say its a song that can bring tears to the most grizzled, tin-eared, rapping punk rocker. Final word on "Soul Express", buy it you'll like it. ; )" Move over Soul Train the Soul Express is here!
