Don't let budget price fool you.

"I have several complete sets of the nocturnes and heard all the highest rated pianists have there turn at them, and these "favorites" by Hungarian pianist Sandor Falvay are some of the most compelling nocturnes I have heard. I can't believe I bought this cd over 12 years ago! I never reach for the Rubinstein set. I wish Falvay recorded the entire set of Nocturnes. From Opus 9 No 1, you will notice his fresh, straightforward interpretations that allow the nocturnes to speak for themselves. He brings out a lot of left-hand harmony and voicing that most others neglect. The cd is well-balanced and recorded nicely."
