"Over two hundred recordings from a legendary guitarist who also recorded with Elvis Presley. The range of performances goes from forgettable (the few done with the Anita Kerr Singers) to stellar. Chet plays classical acoustic guitar (The Other Chet Atkins album) Jazz (Chet Atkins Workshop) and serious listening music (Chet Atkins in Hollywood). All three of these albums are long out of print except Chet in Hollywood which is quite expensive. I was shocked that some of these sounded different from the original RCA albums I own. The reason, according to the included book, is that Chet was such a perfectionist he would re-record his part if he thought he could improve the performance. Amazing. The book alone is worth the price of the set. It lists the artists, recording dates, and locations of all the tracks. It also reprints articles authored by chet in which he describes his choice of equipment. The Bear Family has another winner in this remarkable set of recordings and remarkable book. I am a big fan and if you are this is a must have."
