"Charmaine got her fame by touring with Rebecca St. James as a backup singer who got one solo song during the concert. She in fact sounds a bit like Rebecca St. James in her vocal quality, but her music is more pop than Rebecca's. Unlike a lot of praise & worship albums, there are no congregational vocals anywhere in the background; it could easily be considered a Christian pop album from that perspective. Some of the songs, however, are songs sung in churches, so that makes it seem like a praise & worship album. Two especially popular church songs on this album are "Give Us Clean Hands" and "All About You." If you want to enjoy these church songs throughout the week, this is a nice album to play and sing along with.Charmaine also has some songs, though, that I've never heard anywhere else. She co-wrote six of the ten songs, I guess that's why I haven't heard them elsewhere! The opening cut, "I Love You Lord" and the closing one, "You Found Me" have more of a rock than a pop feel, although not a heavy rock feel. I especially like "I Love You Lord." Here is a sample of those lyrics:I love You, Lord / The more I see Your heart / You're beautiful / You've loved me from the start / You are merciful, yes, You are good / Forever You are true, it's my joy to worship YouThere are two dance-pop tracks on the album; the first one, "Acceptable," is particularly powerful and could use a good dance remix. It is based on a Bible verse I had to memorize in Sunday School in my primary school years--Psalm 19:14--I can still recite it: "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable to You, oh Lord, my strength and my redeemer." Who says memorization is bad?The rest of the album is light pop. At first much of it was too mellow for me, but eventually I got pulled enough into the worship of the songs that I haven't minded the mellow pop.In 2002, I had 45 praise & worship CDs ranging in age from 1989 to 2002; this would definitely be in my top 8 favorites, maybe top 5."
Good, check it out!

"Ok, this will be a short review. This is a great cd, very worshipful, and many of the arrangements are very clever. My only complaints are 1) too many similar songs and 2) not a hi-fi enough sound for true pop quality. But it's a great album, and it's nice because there are new songs and older favorites. Her voice is great, and it's kinda refreshing because there aren't a whole lot of pictures of her in the album, she keeps herself very much in the background and keeps the focus on Jesus. she was cool in concert, but chose her weakest song because it's the poppiest. But her worshipful stuff (as opposed to her praise stuff) is definitely great! Got this at Alive Music Fest 2003 after seeing her with RSJ. Also check out fellow pop-worship artist Kara and solo artist Paige. Great stuff! Ok, that's it for me! Praise the Lord in all you do,
It's all about you, jesus,
And all this is for you,
For your glory and your fame,
It's not about me,
As if you should do things my way,
You alone are God, and I surrender to your way! Amen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Wonderful!

"What a wonderful CD! With lyrics focused around praising the Lord, and a unique, gorgeous voice to sing them, you can't go wrong!
A quote from an interview with Charmaine: "Worship...It's something that's so imbedded in my heart and my life that I want to share it with everybody else."
If you're looking for a good singer, with lyrics praising our King, then look no further."
