Separately DJ Chaka Demus & Pliers both had successful solo careers in the 1980's in the dancehalls of Kingston, Jamaica. After coming together in the 1990's as reggae's dynamic duo, Chaka & Pliers broke out in international markets. In 1993 they produced no less than three UK top 5 singles.
