"What can I say about Catherine Howe without listing superlative after superlative? Well, I can begin at least by stating that without doubt, she is something of a 'hidden gem' in British songwriting and as such, her name may not be known to a huge audience. Despite this, I urge you to listen to this hugely talented lady who already has an Ivor Novello Award under her belt for one of her songs to go along with a really beautiful voice.

Up to about three months ago, she had four albums to her name which all came out in the 1970s (two of which feature on this CD), and she has recently brought out a fifth one entitled 'Princelet Street' (which for some reason is not being sold on Amazon??); her first album since 1979, which is also a must buy. None of the 1970s albums sound dated and stand out for the freshness, quality and sheer beauty of the songwriting. Sorry, but it is very difficult to write about this artist and not fall into superlatives.

The two albums which feature on this CD are a welcome addition to the available CD catalogue and 'Harry', the title track off one of the albums earned her the aforestated Ivor Novello Award - you will see why when you listen to it.

She deserves to be far better known than she is at present and hopefully this CD will introduce a whole new listening public to her wonderful songs. Let's have the other two albums transferred to CD Catherine - especially Dragonfly Days (her 1979 album)!!!

You've got to listen to this!!"

"Just as good as I remember from many years ago. A fine voice which conveys every emotion and an excellant selecton of songs old and new. I loved it and have played it every day since it arrived."
