CD Reviews

Blasphemy Wrapped Death-Core.
R. Odom | Elkton, MD. | 12/28/2008
(3 out of 5 stars)

"I first checked these guys out on myspace and liked their stuff so I decided to get the album. It reminds me of a heavier and better version of Job For A Cowboy, but not as good as Whitechapel. Full of chunky riffs and heavy breakdowns but no guitar solos, at least none that jump out at you. I like the vocalist a lot to because he has a gruff voice like the vocalist for Whitechapel but this guy mixes more high pitched screams in as well. There are no clean vocals which is also a plus for me, to many bands over due the clean vocals and a lot of them do it badly. The lyrics are definately blasphemous to an extent but they are not a evil or satanic band by any means. The lyrics seem to be written by someone who definately questions GOD, GOD'S Will, etc. I would recommend this to anyone into the aforementioned bands or if you like The Faceless, Annotations of An Autopsy, As Blood Runs Black or other bands of that nature. This is a pretty good death core release (I'm new to the whole death core thing) but not the best death core I've heard. If you're into the genre a lot you need this release if you don't have it."
