With this new recording, La Reverdie explores the well-known collection of medieval songbooks known as Carmina Burana. Already the object of many recordings, these refined songs are presented here in an absolutely new approach. The recording focuses on the amorous and moralizing poems, partly because of the topicality of their messages. For the world premiere recordings, a contemporary melody is assigned to four poems not set to music in the manuscript. This recording thereby gives life to particularly vivid texts that are otherwise mute in the manuscript. Liner notes and sung texts in English, French, German, and Italian.
