CD Reviews

Great stuff, but get the original albums for full flava Carm

"Am I the only one with a decade-spanning love affair with UK jazz singer Carmel? From the first time I saw her face in THE FACE MAGAZINE in early 80s, I knew she was something special - her debut album, THE DRUM IS EVERYTHING, is one of my favorite albums of all time, and you can get a few songs here from that landmark LP, including BAD DAY and MORE, MORE, MORE, but her other amazing album, THE FALLING, produced by BRIAN ENO (!), features great "lost" neo-jazz-wave workouts like MERCY, STICKS & STONES, etc. COLLECTED is a good place to start, but Carmel has many more classic songs - how about the label reissuing them all on CD?! Please!"
LOVE love love her voice!!

""Not afraid" is the best song on here! A must have. Another good one is their version of "Mama told me not to come", which isn't on this album, but I can highly recommend it. She has a voice that grows on you, and is very unique. :)"
