Sensible's first & best

"(note-this review was originally for the Japanese CD release-now revising a bit for the Cherry Red/UK release) If you only ever have one Capt Sensible album in your collection this is IT! Features some songwriting & guitar playing by Robyn Hitchcock too! Sure, HAPPY TALK is pap/crap but everything else is golden. Essential trax not available on the budget (but quite nice!) COLLECTION are "Who is Melody Lee Sid?" & "Gimme a Uniform" plus WOT's fabulous B-side "Strawberry Dross"(the extra-long 12" version). *PLUS* my fave Captain B-sides 'Jimi Hendrix' Strat' & 'DAMNED on 45'! Plus the cover photo is INCREDIBLE! Get it chums! (The new release is cheap-the Japan CD only boasts the 12" version of WOT & mini LP sleeve but this one has lots of pics & liner notes by Cap his self!)"

"The good captain's two weird and wondeful chart toppers-the joke rapping "Wot" and "Happy Talk" (from the musical South Pacific) are included alongside other equally ridiculous concepts ranging from country western to cabaret. After buying this on vinyl when it first came out at Wax Trax Records in Chicago, it's great to have a remastered cd with the bonus tracks, most of them are b-sides. Also, one of the best album covers I've ever seen."
