"I love Julian "cannonball" Adderley, and I think he was one of the greatest alto players ever. To hear him on "Something Else" or "Kind of Blue" with Miles Davis, or on "Them Dirty Blues" and "The Quintet Plus", is a must for every Jazz listener.
This collection of ballads contains some great moments - Easy Living from "Them Dirty Blues", the great "I guess I'll have to hang my tears..." from "Cannonball takes Charge" (with Wynton Kelly) and Dancing in the Dark from "Something Else". But the rest of the tracks did not attract me as much as these, and I feel as if Cannonball deserves an even better ballad compilation.
Buy it if your'e interested in good alto ballads and you dont intend to own the above CD's."
