This is an album of Canadian Piano Music by 10 different Canadian Composers, 5 of whom are still living. The works included are considered standard classical piano works by Canadian composers. They are frequently played by Canadian pianists and studied by Canadian piano teachers and advanced students. For any one interested it is a good introduction to Canadian piano music. The album comes with an eight-page booklet containing extensive liner notes about the composers and works contained on the CD, in both English and French. The album has a striking cover which is a reproduction of Canadian landscape by the well-known Cnadian painter, Brent Laycock. Upon its release, this CD was nominated for a "Prairie Music Award" in the category of Outstanding Classical Recording.
