"Busoni was a fabulous pianist. He, like many of his generation, was not overly fond of recording, but we are fortunate to have these documents of his pianistic work.

Additionally, Egon Petri, who made many recordings, is represnted here by music of Busoni. Without having Busoni himself play these pieces, Petri is certainly well-qualified to do so and we are indeed extremely fortunate to hear them played by "one who knew the master". Enjoy!"
