Burt Bacharach Live In Japan, One Of The Best Concert Albums
Rob Stoneman ocean child | Mother Earth, The Milky Way | 11/29/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"In addition to Hits in the 60's with The Shirelles and Dionne Warwick, Burt Bacharach released his first four Solo albums between '65 and '71.

They are, Burt Bacharach Hit Maker!-'65, Burt Bacharach Reach Out-'67, Burt Bacharach Make It Easy On Yourself-69, and the self titled album, Burt Bacharach-'71.

They hold a soft spot in a lot of people's heart.

A&M had the foresight to release a live album of these timeless recordings in '74.

I always looked at the cuts as a work of art, I had no idea they could be reproduced live.

Burt Bacharach Live In Japan.

Priceless. A true gem.

Available on Japanese Import CD, and also on Hipp-O Select and A&M's fabulous 5 CD Boxset, burt bacharach SOMETHING BIG the complete A&M years... and more!

Most pleasurable.

Burt Bacharach Live In Japan contains, the Instrumental Walk On By and a medley of 5 songs from Burt Bacharach Hit Maker!

5 cuts off the album, Burt Bacharach Reach Out. Alfie, The Look Of Love, Bond Street, A House Is Not A Home, and What The World Needs Now Is Love.

4 tracks off the album, Burt Bacharach Make It Easy On Yourself. Do You Know The Way To San Jose, This Guy's In Love With You, I'll Never Fall In Love Again, and Promise, Promises.

Come Touch The Sun and Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head- '69.

And the haunting Piano Arrangement for (They Long To Be) Close To You-'71.

A live album that ought to have garnered more attention.

Meant to be taken off the shelf and enjoyed.

Lots.

Burt Bacharach Live In Japan.

An Artist responsible for warm Symphonic pieces and cool Blue Notes.

Slick brush strokes off a rich pallete of multi-colors.

Woman's Choir looms large.

There's a tendacy for the audiance to be sitting on the edge of their seat when Burt Bacharach cues the next set announcing Don't Make Me Over is Dionne's first hit, and Anyone Who Had A Heart, her second hit.

A lot of value for your entertainment dollar.

Fun!
