CD Reviews

Metalcore opinion

"If you like metalcore you probably won't like this.

This leans on the more metal side of music. If your use to listening to metalcore or any of its types you'll get bored very fast with this music.

It will sound repetitive to you and the vocalist won't be anything special.

Don't expect breakdowns either but songs that "never seem to end" if your use to different styles.

If you like metal or bands like as i lay dying (older stuff) then you could probably like this alot. The CD was pretty well recorded and the music is nice if not all that fresh.

Don't expect Lamb of God or Metallica listening to this though. Its in a different league.

I personally didn't like this album at all. I was bored fast and removed it pretty quickly."
BBTS will be missed.

"Heavy. Thick. Crazy. Sick. Thats all you really need to know. I remember hearing long ago, that BBTS had broken up/ were looking for another singer/ were never going to make music again etc. To my delight they brought Michael Olender back into the mix and went to work. My delight turned to sadness to find out this would be the last Burnt record. (Another amazing band would call it quits too soon.) To the bands credit though, they gave everything they had for this crushing final record. Words cannot describe what the music on this album will do to your body and mind. John Adubato's (guitar) riffs are some of the nastiest Ive ever had the pleasure to hear, and they dont just crunch and snap, they go off on weird tangents that will have you saying, what the? This guy is so talented, I hope he starts a new band or goes on to do a solo instrumental record. Dave Witte on drums... the guy is a machine. His playing style fits so well with John's it's uncanny. Crazy Ted Patterson on bass is the gravity holding the songs together, without him it feels as if the songs themselves would explode, into space or another dimension. That leaves Michael Olender (vocals) left. I didnt think too much about his vocals on previous albums, just something going on in the background over this awesome music, kind of. Heart of Darkness was/is his best vocals, and lyrics to date. You can hear and feel his evolution as a front man on this record, whether it be the screams, straight vocals, or the spoken word parts, it all fits together so well. This album will go down as one of my all time favorites, no question. Think "wall of sound", with brain and body bruising. This cd will make you move, literally, (with a good sound system). Thank you Burnt By The Sun for one final thrashing! You will be missed."
