"Bumpus has a raw, funky groove that keeps you craving to hear it again and again. When I first got this cd, I couldn't stop myself from playing it 3 times a day. Now, 7 months later, I still reach for it when I want to dance (which happens to be quite a bit!) Refreshing mix of funk, blues and hip hop."

"I saw this band at The Wetlands In NYC and didn't think twice about picking up the cd right there on the spot. The album is nasty but a live show is definitely a necessity. Their funk gets you on your feet and keeps you there! Buy this disc and see them whenever possible, you will not be disappointed."

"Some people need to clean out their ears, and free their minds, and I hope for thier sake that the rest will follow. If bumpus sounds like a ho-hum everyday laddie da band to you, or "just the same suburban white boy funk", you really haven't listend to the album well enough. This band has a precision that is incredible while maintining a groove that is somewhere between straight-up funky and the "brown tone". Of course this band is not Jamiriquoi, or Parliment, but it is the province of fools to complain about both the "sameness" of a band, and then deride them for not being the rehashing of a standard. This album is a triumph of the rebirth of true funk. Bumpus kicks it in the tuckus, 'nuff said."
