MONO not STEREO

"The biggest revelation about this Japanese reissue for the first time on CD complete is that those responsible for issuing this session released it in it's MONO form, not STEREO. When originally released in 1959 in LP form, STEREO was available; I know I own the record in its STEREO configuration and the sound quality is exceptional for an LP from this period. Therefore, it is curious why the MONO version was chosen, and not the STEREO version, for release on CD at this time.
With this said, the CD sound quality is enjoyable enough.
