Album Description

Always staying true to straight blues (never giving in to any of the strong hard rock currents of the time), the Brunning Sunflower Blues Band helped write the book on British Blues. The songwriting responsibility mostly fell on the 'two Bobs' (bassist Bob Brunning & pianist Bob Hall), an extraordinary talent that can only be fully appreciated on this 5-album (3CD) box set. A constantly changing lineup which included at various times Peter Green, Jo-Ann Kelly, Dave Kelly & John O'Leary. The box set also contains the rare 1972 London 'Hipshakin' concert, led by the great J.B. Hutto. Mandatory purchase, to be filed somewhere next to Fleetwood Mac, John Mayall, Chicken Shack, Savoy Brown or the Groundhogs band of musicians who made rock fans love the blues, no easy task!
