After years of requests for their music, the Brotherhood of Hope recently produced their first professionally-recorded album: A Season of Hope ? Rediscovering Our Advent Heritage. The songs range from traditional hymns and chant to gospel and contemporary music. The accompanying 16-page booklet includes lyrics, catechesis, meditations, color photos and more. WHY ADVENT AND HOPE? -- Advent is the neglected season. Its spiritual treasures are largely overshadowed by shopping sprees and Christmas carols. (In fact, most Catholics can barely name more than one or two Advent songs). Hope, the major theme of Advent, might also be called the neglected virtue. Its lively strength is often reduced to wishful thinking or earthly desires. This album seeks to rediscover Advent?s treasures and enkindle biblical hope.
