Synopsis

Product Description
Brother Noland is one of Hawai'i's musical icons and visionary leaders. He proudly carries with him the values of aloha through his music and life. While he is a man of many passions, music is the consuming passion of his life. Mystical Fish presents the contemporary island music he's known for, recorded with one of the best bands in Hawaii, complete with the lively beats and dynamic vocals that still stand unparalleled in Hawai'i's music scene! Here, you will find new Brother Noland material; mixed together with covers of Bob Dylan?s Forever Young, Stevie Wonder?s Master Blaster as well as new recordings of his own songs, finally recorded at the time and by the band they were always meant to be performed by. "When Noland approached me about recording this music, it was obvious that the dynamic of the band playing together was something we couldn't recreate if we went about recording using the conventional method. It was obvious we had to get the feel of this band playing together. The result was pure magic!" -Jon de Mello, producer

(1 out of 5 stars)

"I have, and will remain, a tremendous fan of Brother Noland, however, in my opinion this album smells like 3 week old mystical fish wrapped in old newspaper. Sorry to say that...on the other hand, "Brother Noland a collection of his Greatest Hits" and "Ku" remain my two favorite Brother Noland albums. I have owned these two for many, many years and they never fail to please. Those two were money well spent."
