I've heard Eugene Wright play live with Dave Brubeck. I've heard a lotta fine bassists over the past years- and I've never heard anything like Bromberg's playing on this CD. He is a master of intonation, inflection, rhythm and timing, and selection of tunes to play. I shared this music with a trumpeter in the band I currently play with, and he said it made him wish he played bass instead of trumpet. It makes me want to practice- and listen more to Bromberg play!"
