It challenges the listener, on occasion, with off-time, technical riffs and also soothes with nice harmonies. Not for the faint, the vocals are shredding and brutal. I would say that the musicianship is rivaled by the deft lyrical content, both working together to create something more buoyant than just metal but also more progressive than hardcore.
