Intelligient, Punishing, Exceptional : this is breach

"It's Me God by breach is one of the best indie/doom metal albums ever. The album has moments of pure punishing riffage and drum work while relieving this with moments of sheer meloncholy. The band uses a great deal of layers and utilizes other instruments such as the tamborine and drum circles which adds to the overall effectiveness. The vocals are exceptionally well done and from the heart err...throat I suppose. This band has a great deal of talent and it shows...if you are a metal/metalcore/hardcore/indie fan...you owe it to yourself to check out this album!"
A brilliant masterpiece

"As the rest of the world continued to write boring riffs without any forward momentum, Breach went in to the studio and created "It's me god". With the same producer as The Hives, Breach created a dark and unpleasant world. Just listen to the layers of guitars and the brilliant riffs together with the pounding drums. The song is merely another instrument. I cant see how another band can be 10 times as heavy. Check out "Venom" as well. It is another masterpiece."

"I'm not one for superlatives, but I've always held that this album is a bona-fide candidate for best album by anyone ever!

So uncompromising, so unrelenting, it's a perfect example of how to create a cohesive album of songs that fit perfectly together and complement each other perfectly.

The mood of this album is very dark and brooding, yet the only lyrics to the first song, 'Valid' is the line 'Our first embrace'. This is a good example of the overall feeling the album gives off: a tone-painting of frustration, yielding little clues to its source, glimpses of hope, but mostly just darkness. But there is beauty in this darkness...

I compare this band with other great hardcore/metal artists like Neurosis and His Hero is Gone, and I'd say that together with Refused's 'The Shape of Punk to Come', this album is perhaps the best and most important punk/metal/hardcore release to come out of Sweden, perhaps all of Europe, in the 90's.

Not until records like Today is the Day's 'In the Eyes of God' and Isis' 'Oceanic' did anyone working within this genre create a masterpiece of this caliber.

I know, these are some pretty big words, but this record warrants it! I've spent (wasted?) most of the last 10-15 years listening to music across most every guitar- or electronics-driven genre, quiet to loud, simplistic to symphonic, and this is still easily a top-5 record for me."
