"If there's anyone else out there who wondered if this budget release of the two Brahms string quintets was the new or the old one from the Juilliard with Walter Trampler, I compared the timings, and they are identical to the full-priced DDD recording from 1996. See my review of these superlative performances under that listing.

In the meantime, whatever happened to those older versions in analog sound from the Sixties? They led the field in those days, as this new CD leads the field today."
