BMOP/sound's release, "Chamber Concertos I-VI," is a comprehensive recording featuring the six chamber concertos of Elliott Schwartz. Spanning more than thirty years of his compositional career, these works represent a fusion of the solo concerto and the concerto grosso. Moreover, they reflect the composer's fascination with brilliant instrumental color, stylistic collage, and neo-Baroque textural models in which the virtuoso role is surrounded by complex Ivesian multiple-exposures.
