CD Reviews

Bogdan is a mad genius!

"When I first got this CD, I thought, "My God, what have i wasted my money on! " And that's probably what you'll think when you first here this: "Why would anyone spend money on a CD full of Casiotone synths and chipmunk vocals! "Well, anyone passing by "Samurai Math Beats" for this reason is doing themselves a great disservice, because this album is purest genius. Anyone who grew up in the 80's practicing karate kicks in their yard and using sticks a laser guns can relate to this. There is a sense of refined, _mature_ nostalgia that is not to be found elsewhere. This album will _not_ "click" with you immediately. Its the type of album that sits in your collection until one sunny April afternoon when you listen to it on a whim, and find yourself crying as you wonder just where your childhood went.Excuse me, I'm going to go climb a tree now!"
I have never heard of this artist before...

"...nor was I ever into drum and base or instrumentals. This album is one of the funniest and most enlightening albums I have ever heard in my life. The songs are littered with some of the most random noises and voicebox tracks you'll ever hear in any album or set of instrumentals.

Yet...for some odd reason, it fills a tiny void in my life when I listen to it."

"Bogdan is a genius. He has a sound reminiscent of Aphex Twin's "Richard D. James Album," Squarepusher's "Big Loada," and some Mu-Ziq (and a similar sense of humour), but that is not to say this is unoriginal. Dig, for instance, the love song that begins this album. Brought tears to my eyes. I'm lying when i say that. This album rocks."
