Synopsis

Album Description
Bobby Lewis Another Time (S-SSD 0100) A NEW SOUTHPORT RELEASE! Master trumpet/flugelhorn/composer/arranger Bobby Lewis delivers his 7th Southport CD release with "Another Time." The recorded legacy of a jazz and new music artist is like a musical novel of the times and events that trace the society and art. With each new CD, starting with the first, the 1993 "Inside This Song," Bobby Lewis has opened his world of melody and harmonic innovation to the world audience. A Lewis session is more like the fun loving gathering of old friends, and you can see that Bobby, like a great film director, often works with the same team of innovators. At his side, the impressive piano man Jim Ryan, reed cat Pat Mallinger, 4 string bassist Thomas Kini, the ultra cool Curtis Robinson on guitar, percussion-perfect Alejo Poveda, ever-steady Jeff Stitely on drums with guests Rob Kassinger on acoustic bass, guitarist Pat Ferreri, and Chicago veteran conductor/arranger Dick Boyell. Continue the Lewis journey with timeless songs like track 1-Jobim?s "Outra Vez," the playful track 2, "Soon It?s Gonna Rain" (only Bobby Lewis could reinvent this classic!) and track 8, "Mr. Smooth," a Lewis original composed for a longtime fan who dresses in black with dark shades at Andy?s Jazz Club on Hubbard St. in Chicago. The time for "Another Time" is now, so get down with the sound! Southport Records celebrates it?s 100th release with this new CD from Bobby Lewis. Southport Records was founded in Chicago in 1977 to bring music from Chicago to the world. To all Media and Radio we appreciate your support and ears.
