CD Reviews

One of THE GREATEST Rock 'n' Rollers EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shlomo Sinatra | Alaska | 01/12/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is out-of-PRINT?? The box sets from Del-Fi, esp. Never To be Forgotten, possibly The greatest box set ever, is out-of-print and going for Exorbitant prices??

WHAT KIND OF WORLD IS THIS!!!

That's like The Beatles' A Hard Day's Night going out of print! (bad enough that's in Mono, but I digress)

Bobby Fuller was one of the most brilliant songwriters, producers, and singers of all TIME!!! If you love rock and roll, you Can NOT do without the songs on this disc!!!!!

I see the "Best-Of" available now. Pfft!

How, HOW could it be a best-of without Never To be Forgotten???!!!?

Or Only When I Dream! or My True Love, A New Shade Of Blue,Fool Of Love...???

NOBODY had a more heart-warming sound than Bobby Fuller than Possibly the Beatles' early recordings; Bobby loved the Beatles, and stated that they clealy loved Buddy Holly but couldn't do the sound right because they weren't from Texas! But Bobby covered Anytime At All--now, What a CHOICE!! The song with the most loving devotion, and HE Picks it!

Bobby Fuller RULED! He still DOES, dammit!

DAMMIT! For Bobby Fuller's catalogue of majestic songs to languish the way they are, he'll continue being thought of as a (uck!) (I'm gonna be nauseous!) a---"one-hit wonderWRONG!!! wrong.

Bobby Fuller understood what made rock 'n' roll, done right as Buddy Holly sure as hell did, what it could do to you, and his songwriting skills were tops!

The songs on here, forget I Fought The Law, Who CARES!!

It's songs like the classic refusal-to-let-love-get-him-down, Let Her Dance! Let her dance with him all night long, it will be ALRIGHT! All of Bobby's songs, practically, were infused with both love and Soul. This guy was the greatest. On Never to be Forgotten, he sings in a dream, a ghost haunts him-- she's a ghost, but his heart would rather feel some pain and remain true to his love than reject it for it being 'wrong'.

My True Love is such a beautiful song; devotion, pure devotion, in a perfect pop song. "I have found a place in the sun...with my true one."

THAT is beautiful. It must be heard to be truly appreciated.

Only When I Dream? Oh man, perfection! In its mono mix (on the expensive box set) it shows its Everly brothers influence even more than here, but it simply can't be beat no matter WHAT!

A song about loving someone so bad that you don't want to scare her away, so you just keep on dreaming...and lose yourself in that dream. It is a love song, one of the most beautiful ever written!

Oh Bobby! You knew the score!

"in my dreams I think of you, and wish that you were mine, my lonely heart it yearns because, I'm dreaming ALL THE TIME...."

(sigh!)

A New Shade Of Blue. One of the greatest 'torch songs' ever. A completely beautiful ballad, Bobby is lamenting in the --

No words can do this JUSTICE!

"all my dreams I thought would last, now belong to the past" No, Bobby, NO!" Seriously, Bobby never gave up. He sang for the lonely, he sang for everybody, especially those who love the wrong one sometimes, hence his great cover of Love's Made A Fool of You.

This guy had so much haert and soul and sang so gloriuosly and had a fantastic band that ranks amongst the greatest bands of all time, he was a fantastic producer, better than that Spectre creep, for Bobby Fuller (STAND when you say that name!!)--Bobby wore his heart on his sleeve.

For those who may not know, Bobby Fuller was murdered, and his murder was the MOST obvious cover-up in rock n roll history.
