Synopsis

Album Description
Though the songs on it were recorded over a four-year period, and despite the fact that this 1961 album of hits, b-sides and early uptempo numbers was hastily assembled by Atco as an answer to the twist craze then sweeping the nation, 'Twist with Bobby Darin' is probably the single best collection of Bobby?s rockin? sides ever released. Includes 'Bullmoose; Early in the Morning' (which Atco originally released under the name "The Rinky Dinks!"); 'Mighty Mighty Man; You Know How; Somebody to Love; Multiplication; Irresistible You; Queen of the Hop; You Must Have Been a Beautiful Baby; Keep A Walkin?; Pity Miss Kitty', and 'I Ain?t Sharin? Sharon'. The man could do it all and he proves it here for all posterity.

CD Reviews

Poor quality of the psuedo stereo mix
A. Porritt | Australia | 03/11/2005
(2 out of 5 stars)

"I would advise bobby darin fans to stay away from this cd. The conversion from the original mono to psuedo stereo is very poor. It has removed all the excitement from what were a few great rock and roll tracks in mono. I have the original bullmoose on 78 and this is better than this cd version."
A good little Bobby Darin "appetizer"
Joseph P. Menta, Jr. | Philadelphia, PA USA | 08/25/2004
(3 out of 5 stars)

"Though it doesn't really contain any first-tier Bobby Darin hits, and the total running time clocks in only at about 25 minutes, this is still a fun mix of songs that amply shows off the versatility and showmanship of Mr. Darin. Equally at home doing rock & roll or adult standards, Mr. Darin was a true original, and these songs entertainingly emphasize different aspects of his talent."
An unusual low rating for me

"Outside of the well-known hits, I found nothing of interest on this album. I listened to it once, and that was it. Your mileage may vary, of course."
