CD ReviewsA Note From Bobby Bobby Broom | 05/20/2008 (3 out of 5 stars) "Dear Friends: As the back-story to the disc explains: the music here comes from the recorder of a fan in the audience. I was unaware at the time of these performances that I would eventually be offering them to you. As the "decider" overseeing the release of this music, I had to weigh the importance of the blatant crowd noise on the two tunes against what I felt were some strong performance aspects, especially on "Fly Me". My consideration was for and about the listeners or potential consumers. In the end, I chose to go with the music. As I listened myself, I found that that track in particular swept me up (pardon the pun) and the strength and energy of the music won out. I hope that those of you who might want to experience these tracks will allow me this kind of artistic license for just two of the eight selections and that ultimately, and above all else, you will enjoy the music. It was nice of him to let potential buyers know that this is an audience recording. As someone who is much more concerned with the quality of the music rather than audiophile stuff, I can unhesitatingly recommend this CD. I was led to it when Pat Metheny called it one of the best guitar trio CD's ever. It's an excellent, exciting live recording. I haven't really been keeping up with Bobby as I should - I think the only other recording I have of him is with Kenny Burrell - "Generations" (also with Rodney Jones) from forever ago. Every note on this CD swings and swings hard, in a totally natural way. Lots of chance taking. Great trio. Please check this out!"
