"As soon as the Apples and Oranges CD came, I excitedly ripped it open!
My teen Son, Ian, and I sat on the floor, popped the CD in the CD player and listened to the whole thing. What a riot! Our favorite song on the CD was, ironically, the first song: "A world made out of Spam," a catchy novelty tune about a giant Spam monster that takes over the world.
Bob Pyle is a truly talented musician. All of the songs are wonderfully written and well thought out. The whole CD is filled with words of compassion and wit.
Vegans will love the CD and non-vegans might just convert after listening to the song, Apples and Oranges, an amusing 5-minute journey on a horse-pulled apple cart during which Bob Pyle retells how his choice of foods has progressed from a diet of meat to one of grains, fruits and vegetables.
The CD makes use of some of Baltimore-Washington area's finest musicians. Concert violinist, Janice Martin, even plays a genuine Antonio Stradivari Cremona 1708, on extended loan through the generous efforts of the Stradivari Society of Chicago.
Ian and I can't wait to share this fabulous CD with our friends and family! Ian, laughing throughout the CD, says to me, "Mom, that is one funny guy! Kids are going to love it, too!"
Although this CD is hilarious and whacky at times, it does have a serious message, one that will certainly touch your heart. Bob Pyle has created a CD with a message of social reverence concerning the foods we choose today.
You'll have to buy the CD for yourself to see what all the hubbub is about! --Angela Elliot

A great old-time string band album--with a vegetarian theme

"this album reflects the quirky sense of humor of Baltimore, Maryland native, Bob Pyle. His songs are lively and are sure to make you laugh every time you hear them! From 'A World Made Out Of Spam' to 'Frank Perdue,' you'll hear his unique manner of looking at the world and his experiences in it. Bob also takes a vegetarian perspective without preaching or taking it too seriously, as he hilariously bashes meat industry products (or end-of-the-line biproducts!) i listen to this album very regularly!"

"Not you everyday "radio music". If you like folk music and have any vegetarian leanings you should love this CD."
Absolute Masterpiece!!!

"I just read the negative review for this cd and was flabbergasted! The review must have been written by a guilty meat-eater or someone who was negatively motivated! Perhaps they didn't even listen to the cd!
Apples and Oranges is an absolute masterpiece! Vegetarians, vegans and children will love this cd, as well as everyone else! When I bought my copy, I had no idea that I would still be listening to it over a YEAR LATER !
Apples and Oranges has been played on radio stations all over the world. One song, "I've Been Restored", has even been made into a nationally broadcast radio commercial. If you google, "Bob Pyle", you will see this. This is a genuinely fun and entertaining cd, with an important message attached. As a vegetarian, I am so glad music like this is available!
Buy it, you won't regret it. I didn't!

"This CD is so very bad. The vocals are horrible, the lyrics are corny and the background music is just awful. I was hoping for a Ray Stevens take on vegetarianism vs. meat eating but no......it wasn't funny, it wasn't catchy, it both sucked and blowed. Avoid. Save your money and your ears."
