"I've spent some time recently with John Riley's "Jazz Workshop" book. In it he has some examples of how second line drumming could fit into the vocabulary. It's great stuff. But if you really want the New Orleans flavor in your playing, check out Bob French. It's the real thing, and the taste can add a lot to your playing. Gotta love it!"

"I frequently listen to Bob's radio show on WWOZ in New Orleans and I enjoy having a collection of his work. I especially appreciate "Bourbon Street Parade" and "When the Saints Go Marching In." He collected a great group of talented musicians for this CD and they all shine."

"This and the other Marsallis CDs based in New Orleans are great. They capture the spirit and sound of the New Orleans we all love, pre Katrina, and continuing the spirit."
