Synopsis

Album Description
Behold features all of the Blues Busters best numbers, from their recordings in the pre-Ska era through to their mid-70's Reggae gems. Among the stand-out cuts featured are such immortal and influential classics as 'Wide Awake In A Dream', 'Thinking Of You', 'Soon You Will Be Gone' and of course the title track. It also features several out-and-out soul sides that Campbell & James cut in New York and Muscle Shoals when they based themselves in the US for a few years in the mid-60's. All of those are being reissued in the collection for the first time in almost 40 years! Here are more than two dozen classics by arguably the most dynamically soulful vocal act ever to emerge from Jamaica! Trojan. 2004.

CD Reviews

Definitive Ska/Rock Steady Band
Rocco | Canada | 04/07/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"A lot of attention has been given to the SKA bands of the late seventies and to a lesser extent, the eighties and nineties. However, long before bands like the Specials and English Beat were skanking it up, there were the Ethiopians. Sometimes overlooked and overshadowed by greats like Desmond Dekker and Toots Hibbert, this CD is a great example of their genre defining sound. A must have for true SKA and rock steady fans."
Great early ska/reggae
Sam Trachtenberg | San Francisco, CA | 04/07/2000
(4 out of 5 stars)

"At first when listening to this album I thought it was a bit too slow. However, upon further listening, I totally changed my mind. This is a great groovy chill album. It is perfect for those seeking quality reggae that extends beyond Marley. I highly recommend this album"
