Music for Refelction

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Shapes and Lines is a multi layered, soulful, IndiePop album. Its lyrics speak of life, loss, love, yearning and most importantly - maturity. With rich, full instrumentation, catchy melodies and beautiful vocals, Blue2Noise has carefully produced an album that frequently transports one elsewhere.
Blue2Noise elegantly weaves human experience into their musical cloth, building strength with ethnic-flavored effects and percussion. This is a musically complex album that reveals itself slowly to the listener. Its true essence is cleverly disguised by its addictive, easily digested, pop skin.I highly recommend this album, enjoy the music - and read the lyrics!"

(4 out of 5 stars)

"It's refreshing to find a band that does NOT play EMO. All you hear on the radio are bands that seem to blend with every other band, but then there is Blue2Noise. A cross between early Radiohead and Coldplay the N.Y.C. quartet know how to write good pop gems. Songs like "Pontiac Crash", "Winter" and "My Masterpiece" are just a few of those gems that stand out, but this is not to say that they are the only gems. They are just another N.Y.C. group that are destine to be talked about like Interpol and Longwave. You won't regret getting "Shapes and Lines"."

"I've listened to it many times and I like it more each time, the songs grow on you. Nice harmonies. I like "Spinaround", "Out of Time", "My Masterpiece". "Believe" is weirdly earnest but strangely refreshing."
