Everything you ever wanted to know about Blue
Amanda Richards | Georgetown, Guyana | 05/12/2005
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Blue may not be as familiar a name as their US counterparts N'Sync and Backstreet Boys, but this British "boy" band rules the pop roost in the UK and further afield, with three chart topping albums and millions of albums and singles sold worldwide.

This "Best of" album contains singles chosen from the albums "All Rise", "One Love" and "Guilty", plus some new material such as "Curtain Falls" which samples Stevie Wonder's "Pastime Paradise", and the original "Love at First Sight".

All their hit singles are here, and also of note are the guest performances by Elton John on "Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word"; Stevie Wonder and Angie Stone on "Signed, Sealed, Delivered I'm Yours"; and Lil Kim on "Get Down on It".

Having only three albums does limit a "hits" album somewhat, and predictably, this album pretty much gives you everything you need to know about Blue. Their young fan base probably wouldn't care if Duncan, Anthony, Lee and Simon did nothing but lip sync and dance, and may have bought this album primarily to get at the photographs in the liner notes.

Formulaic pop and some respectable covers make for easy listening.

"What can I say. All the hits are here and to top it off this compliation came with a bonus disc that contains a gallery and tour photos and other stuff. The bonus disc also contains around 8 tracks which are not released commerically anywhere. Also a few remises worth taking note of here. The music is either for listening or with some tracks to boogie to! Listen to this and make your choice..."

"Our american music scene is boring. These guys are definitely not. They have range and power. They have mix funk and pop. I can listen to them over and over again. A wonderful departure from what is playing on the radio."
