ORIGINAL 1988 11-track Columbia Records 11-digit-UPC (07464311702) CD release of 1972 vinyl LP release, housed in standard jewel case with 4-page-front and rear inserts. This is not the 1999 remastered release and contains no bonus tracks beyond the original LP track listing. However, unlike either the original greatest hits LP or the 1999 remastered release, this CD release features tracks exclusively taken from BS&T's first four original non-best-of LPs (1968's "CHILD IS FATHER TO THE MAN", 1969's "BLOOD, SWEAT & TEARS", 1970's "BLOOD, SWEAT & TEARS 3" and "BLOOD, SWEAT & TEARS " from 1971); i.e., this 1988 release (and the subsequent Columbia House and BMG club re-releases available by 1990) features six lengthier album tracks rather than their shorter single versions, and the total track listing time (48:21) is longer than the 1999 remastered version, even including its bonus cuts. Unfortunately, compounding the confusion is the fact that, when preparing this 1988 release, the editors at Columbia Records inaccurately transferred the individual track duration times straight from the original all-singles-versions LP back cover, which means that the times listed on this CD's rear insert and the back side of its front insert are incorrect for 6 of the tracks. Track listing, including actual accurate duration times: 1. You've Made Me So Very Happy (4:18); 2. I Can't Quit Her (3:38); 3. Go Down Gamblin' (4:15); 4. Hi-De-Ho (4:25); 5. Sometimes in Winter (3:08); 6. And When I Die (4:05); 7. Spinning Wheel (4:07); 8. Lisa, Listen to Me (2:58); 9. I Love You More Than You'll Ever Know (5:58); 10. Lucretia MacEvil/Lucretia's Reprise (5:30); and 11. God Bless the Child (5:57). Total CD time: 48 minutes, 21 seconds.
