Synopsis

Album Description

Mick Abrahams featured on Jethro Tull's first two albums before he split to form the first incarnation of Blodwyn Pigin 1969. 'Lies' recorded in '93 by B.P. mach 9 is a more soulful affair with the band leaving porgressive and jazz behind. Apart from the title track, there's a ton of R&B-styled material here including covers of songs by Doc Pomus ans Dr. John. Note this reissue doesn't include two live tracks, 'I Wonder Who' and 'All Said and Done' which appeared on the out of print Viceroy release. 2000 release. Standard jewel case.

"This offering is a very bland affair. I was far more impressed with "Ahead Rings Out". There is a very disjointed feeling to this album, leaving the listener with the sense that it was just slapped together.
Knowing what Mick Abrahams can be capable of I was disappointed. There are better albums out there. Unless your polishing off a collection, avoid "Lies"."
