Synopsis

Product Description
Based around a winning formula of musicianship, strong melodies and sharp satirical lyrics, the Blams (as they were affectionately known) were widely touted as successors to Split Enz in the early eighties. Featuring one Don McGlashan (who went on to considerable fame with The Front Lawn and the Mutton Birds), the Blams were responsible for two of the finest pop songs of that era - "There Is No Depression In New Zealand" and "Don't Fight It Marsha, It's Bigger Than Both Of Us". Unfortunately after only one EP, one mini album and their debut LP ('Luxury Length') the band folded in 1982 as a result of unfortunate circumstances (a severe travelling accident and financial woes for their record label Propeller).

Despite their brief troubled career, the Blams remain an integral part of NZ's pop music history, and this collection is an essential purchase for any New Zealand music fan.
