"Unreal! Another instant classic from the folks at the Southern Lord label. This is the kind of music that makes you want to drive really, really fast while slamming your fist against the steering wheel until the airbag deploys.



There are only 4 tracks, ranging from 2 1/2 minutes to just over 4, but this feels like a lot more than just under 15 minutes of music. Each track is somehow unique, but it flows together like some Viking head-banging dream state that doesn't wear off until you realize The Black Keys have come on, alphabetically next on your playlist. I would recommend just sampling the first track and letting the blindingly fast metal wash over you - you'll know if you're ready for the whole dosage. Odds are, if you're actually reading this review, then you're ready. The vocals are not overdone and blend perfectly with this style of hard-as-hell music. It's enjoyable because it's not quite screaming, and it's not quite growling. This whole EP falls someplace in the twilight zone, alternating between the sickest fast-paced guitar licks you've heard this year and plenty of slowed-down sludgy riffs.



I've listened to this EP 4 or 5 times now, and cannot get enough. It's actually a little cheaper at Southern Lord, and the MP3s are available here on Amazon, as well as on Emusic. For $3.97 you absolutely cannot go wrong with this tasty EP from Black Breath. Support the great metal bands and keep banging those heads."
