Great Music for a Great Movie
Luis Hernandez | New York, New York, USA | 07/25/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"The soundtrack of "Billy's Hollywood Screen Kiss," is an interesting, entertaining selection of music that perfectly conveys the emotions and atmosphere of the film's characters and locations. Unlike many gay-themed films of the past, this soundtrack doesn't utilize heavy dance music to tell it's story. "Love Me Or Leave Me," by Nina Simone is a classic tune that was perfectly incoporated in the film during a drag performance. The film's ending song, "Love Slave Of Catalina," by Tonya Kelley is a hauntingly beautiful song, and with the film ending with a love-struck Billy on Catalina Island, it was the perfect song to end a great film."Happy Heart" by Petula Clark sounds great in its' original version, but it sounds amazing when remixed by Junior Vasquez. Junior does an excellent job as always. "This is My Song," also by Petula Clark is an added treat if you are in a sixties mood.So if you are in a mood for a great soundtrack with a wide array of musical flavors, this album will fulfill your desires. Overall, an excellent soundtrack for a great film."
