Orbison Collaborator Sounds Great

"Being a lifelong Roy Orbison fan, I knew that Bill Dees was his co-writer on many of his greatest hits in the 1960's, and that Dees had even been in the Big O's traveling band at one time. So I was interested in hearing how he'd handle these songs, almost all of which are familiar to Orbison's fans. This is really a good album; Dees is more than credible on these songs, yet never tries to copy Orbison. I've been playing this album over and over again; it's one of those "left field" finds that occasionally comes along. I was not familiar with the songs "Saturday Night at the Movies" or "So This is Love" although they are said to be Orbison collaborations."
