CD Reviews

Amazing

"Literally one of the best bands ever. It's very sad the Rochester "music scene" is one of the main reasons for BigHair's disbanding. In Rochester, they received no support from anyone but loyal fans and Rochester has nothing going for it musically except in the classical arena (Eastman School). If they had been in any other major city (NY, LA etc.) they would still be rocking your world with incredible music. I strongly suggest buying this CD and the follow up "Slaphappy", if you can get it.
The only good thing about Big Hair's break up was the fact that another incredibly amazing Rochester-based band "Gaylord" got to steal Big Hair's drummer. A definite must-have CD."
One of the best ex-bands in the world

"Ok, so I'm a little biased. I'm from the same town as these guys, am friends with three of the four members, and, after they split-up, I even used their drummer in my band. But aside from all that, this really is (was)one of the best bands in the world.
Imagine King Crimson mixed with Slayer, Rush, Charlie Daniels, and then throw in a little Primus and you've almost got Big Hair. I would, however, (if you can find it) reccommend their second CD, "Slaphappy". It is a much more mature and proficient effort and Tod's compositions are much better. But, it's not on a major label (kind of self produced by one of our city's "label's" by Tod {I think})..."
Primus on crack with a fiddle player

"That's the only way I can describe this quartet from Rochester, NY. Fast, furious songs about bugs and socially retarded children, among other odd subjects. These guys wreak havoc and raise holy hell at their live shows. If you like Primus, Sausage and all that, you'll dig their jive. That description up there in bold print doesn't really do the band justice. Big Hair has a unique, warped sound. Highly recommended."
