CD Reviews

Fun, soulful, carefree...like the spirit of New Orleans
Jeff Young | New Orleans, Louisiana | 07/04/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I can't compliment this band enough. The contagiuos beat and happy rhythms of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy are contagious... Their music makes you want to dance!

I saw them perform recently at the House of Blues in New Orleans. It was an incredible show. Just prior to singing the title track of this CD, Save My Soul, lead singer Scotty Morris told the crowd that he had written the song 14 years ago. He felt he owed a debt of gratitude to the musical tradition of New Orleans. But now, post-Katrina, the song carries more meaning for him and for all who love N'Awlins.

Save My Soul is a fun, soulful, and carefree CD. Buy it. Enjoy it. Share it with those you love.

Highly recommended!"

"This cd is delightful from beginning to end, full of suprises, swing, New Orleans jazzy jump blues ,and smokey infectious vocals that are smouldering hot. Red hot horn riffs that remind one of Bourbon street. Hot tempos and exotic swinging rhythms. Let this cd voodoo your voodoo."
Great type of Jazz.

"Growing up in the 50s is what I listen to, but after seeing a live show of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, I bought a CD at the show. After listening to the CD, I bought two more CDs at Amazon.com. The music has a real beat to it, and you can't help but move some with the music. It really rocks. Great stuff."
