Synopsis

Album Description
The original Creation band, led by Creation Records founders Alan McGee & Dick Green through a dizzying range of styles in their time, from psychedelia to the further shores of Neil Young, with a line-up that at various times included Andrew Innes, Joe Foster, Ed Ball, Phillip King & many other reprobates who should have been in jail long ago. CD Reviews

Attention: deserving re-discovery
M. Bowes | Philly, Pa | 03/31/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Biff Bang Pow! were the original band of the Creation label that would later give home to flagship acts like the Felt, the House of Love and My Bloody Valentine. Their sound is a positive mix of British psychedlia akin to the Television Personalities, the folksy, jangly sound of bands as diverse as Lloyd Cole/Commotions & r.e.m. and the gentle, dreamy haze of later Creation bands. Any fan of jangly guitar pop should pick up this album, more than certain to find Biff Bang Pow! an interesting discovery within any genre. This 23 Track compilation is the best representation of the band throughout their career. It also comes to be the most solid album in their catalogue, seeing as it gathered their strongest material alongside singles on one masterfully structured disc. Trust me when I say, if you an old fan or a new ear, this band was one of the great ones. As far as the compilation, it's one of the best I have ever encountered."
