"Boston Skyline has re-issued, on a pair of CDs, excellent recordings made by the prestigious New York Woodwind Quintet from the late 1950s to the mid 1960s. Volume 2 includes wind quintet standards by Milhaud, Ibert, Irving Fine, and Hindemith among others. The expert musicians play impeccably alternating solo turns with sensitive group ensemble. The sound - - - fine in its day - - - seems even more outstanding on CD. This disc, and its Volume 1 companion, present outstanding repertory staples in excellent sound performed by great American wind masters. This set is definitely worth acquiring."
