(5 out of 5 stars)

"Franz Lehar is known as the composer of one masterpiece The Merry Widow m that is rightly heard by classical music lovers. But he also wrote many otherettas, which is probably best heard in a compilation like this one... Lehar used a large r orchestra than most other operetta writers., which creates a much lusher sound.

This disc is a very beautifully presented by soprano Renate Holm and tenor Werner Krenn . Some of my favorite moments are in Paganini and Der Zarewwitz which brought tears to my eyes. There are words but extensive plot summaries explaining the excerpt. Highly recommended to anyone interested in exploring Lehar.

Please excuse any typos I have a neurologic disease..
