Synopsis

Product Description
Based in Paris, France, Bernardo Sandoval is the modern voice of Spanish flamenco and jazz. He erupted on the Flamenco scene in the late 70s.

In a musical genre marked by its rules and canons, Sandoval expanded its horizons by including jazz, afro, Mediterranean, and Latino elements.
Sandoval works for a wider recognition of flamenco across the world. Through several albums, he has become the emblematic symbol of modern flamenco with outstanding guitar skills.

Always open to new challenges, Bernardo Sandoval gained critical acclaim for his composition of the soundtrack for the film Western, winner of the French Academy Award® for Best Score in 1998. While he releases almost one album a year, which increases his number of fans, Sandoval keeps on scoring films and documentaries and also collaborated with the band Jaya out of Benin, Africa.

Amor is his latest album and one of the first to receive a proper US release. Amor is a collection of harmonious jazz ballads sung in Spanish. For this album, Sandoval gathered some of the finest contemporary jazz musicians such as Guillaume de Chassy (piano), Joel Trolonge (stand-up bass), Jean-Denis Rivaleau (drums, percussions) and Christian Lechevretel (trumpet). There is no guitar on this album. Sandoval is on vocals and percussions.

Discover a landmark in the history of Spanish jazz. Amor is another success in this unique artist s career, mixing jazz and flamenco seamlessly.
